Rowan
Origin Story:
Rowan came to SCENTdog Collective from the National Search Dog Foundation in Santa Paula, CA. He was brought to NSDF as a Search and Rescue candidate from a city shelter in California where his sociable demeanor and strong desire to play ball were recognized as good traits for a search dog.
While Rowan's career in SAR did not pan out, it just wasn't his calling, his potential to work as a conservation canine was seen. SCENTdog Collective was notified and Rowan was evaluated and brought into the fold. He spent several months training for work at wind farms as an avian and bat fatality detection dog.
Once his training was nearly complete, the perfect family appeared for him. Rowan was adopted into a working home where he completed his training and now works weekly at wind farm sites in the California's Altamont with his owner/handler and field biologist, Jacquelyn. At home, Rowan enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young girls, as well as the company of two house cats. He fit in like a glove and we could not be more happy with this placement.
